As an Early Childhood Educator Supervisor, you will be responsible for the same duties as the Early Childhood Educator role, while also being responsible for office duties (i.e. answering emails).

Working with the Strive Team, you will demonstrate leadership and innovation in advancing a visionary approach to capacity building through professional learning. You will support strategies for multi-method and multi-modal learning opportunities (including Strive’s Podcast) that will shape the abilities, attitudes, and motivations of early years professionals.

The Strive Professional Learning Specialist position will be a full-time, contract position based on 35-hours a week and will be employed by Childreach and managed by the Strive Manager. This position will be contracted until December 20th, 2024, with possibility for renewal so long as funding is available.

The successful candidates will work as part of a team to provide care for children (birth to 13 years of age) in a group setting under the direction of Good Beginnings. They will follow the Program Statement, confidentiality, and the policies established by the Board of Directors, and regulations under the Child Care and Early Years Act. They will also ensure that they are integrating Good Beginnings’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging values into their environment.

The role of the successful candidates will be to fill in for employee absences, whether those absences are due to illness, vacation, or other breaks. When not required for coverage, they will provide support within a specific room based on the needs of the program. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to be available during Good Beginnings’ hours of operation (6:30 am to 6:00 pm), including the possibility of a split shift.

This position is responsible for mentoring and supervising staff in the planning and implementation of a high quality, developmentally appropriate program that enhances children’s development in all domains and in accordance with program philosophies and legislation requirements. They act as a role model and provide an emotionally supportive environment with ongoing support and guidance. The position evaluates the program and staff, ensuring compliance with the Child Care & Early Years Act and OCCC program standards. This position requires frequent travel across Oxford County to School Age program locations.

The School Age Facilitator plans, implements and participates in the development of programming to enhance children’s development in all domains in accordance with program philosophies and legislative requirements. Regular and ongoing communication and consultation with the Supervisor, co-workers and families is key. The Facilitator provides a safe and emotionally supportive environment and performs all administrative tasks including on-site licensing.
