What can GPS teach us about creating learning environments for children? What does bowling have to do with planning activities for children in your care? Join us to learn more about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and what all of these things have in common.
At some time or another, you have probably used a ramp or an automatic door or turned on closed captioning. These modifications were designed for people with physical disabilities, but we all benefit from using them. This basic principle of “what is necessary for some is beneficial for all” applies to learning as well.
In our time together, you’ll gain understanding of how Universal Design for Learning aligns with How Does Learning Happen, and how it enables you to meet the diverse needs of children, families and each other. We’ll help you to recognize the wonderful things you are already doing, and to learn some new and practical ways to increase engagement and meaningful learning experiences for all children. Bring an open mind, your years of experience, and your creativity!
Doors will open at 6:00 PM with time for networking and refreshments. The presentation will begin at 6:30 PM.
