Facilitated By: Teresa Hadley (ECE, BASc, OCT, Forest and Nature School Practitioner)
This workshop is designed specifically for childcare workers who support older preschool and school-age children.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities, explore adaptable literacy and numeracy games, and learn how to foster curiosity and skill development through storytelling, loose parts play, and outdoor experiences suitable for their unique settings. Through a blend of lecture-style discussion, collaborative planning, hands-on engagement, and experiential play, educators will explore how to design playful learning environments. Educators who work in childcare and before/after school settings will leave with concrete ideas and strategies to implement in their programs, supporting children's literacy and numeracy development in engaging and meaningful ways.
Registration will open exclusively for Elgin participants for two weeks. Registration for London, Middlesex, and Oxford participants opens on Friday, March 28 at 12:00 PM (space pending).
Teresa Hadley is a Kindergarten OCT in Ontario and the face behind the Instagram account joys.of.learning. She has a diploma in Early Childhood Education and is a certified Forest and Nature School Practitioner through the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada.
