Join us to gain a deeper understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The UDL framework focuses on multiple means of engagement, representation, action and expression; it aligns perfectly with How Does Learning Happen! UDL is a time - and cost - effective way to increase engagement and meaningful learning experiences for all children. Better yet, it also supports the diverse needs of parents, caregivers and professionals.
You may already be aware of Universal Design for Architecture which has brought us things like ramps and automatic doors designed for people with physical disabilities. We’ve all appreciated these modifications at some time or another even if we are physically able. This basic principle of “what is necessary for some is beneficial for all” also applies to learning. Our time together will give you a solid foundation in understanding how Universal Design for Learning can support your diversity, equity and inclusion goals.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) enables educators to create fully inclusive classrooms. Leadership understanding of the concepts of UDL is essential in understanding how they can support educators in implementing UDL and how they can use UDL to meet the unique needs of all staff and families, creating fully inclusive programs, training, and practices.
Doors open at 8:45 AM with time for networking and a delicious continental breakfast. The presentation begins at 9:30 AM.
