Facilitated by: Sara D’Alessandro RECE, Strive Resource Specialist & Raluca Wood RECE, MPEd, Strive Professional Learning Lead
Are you a Registered Early Childhood Educator? Then, this network of support is for you! The Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) program is an ongoing professional learning program that is grounded in self-reflection, self-directed learning, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
The CPL Program is designed to support RECEs to
enhance their knowledge and skills,
strengthen their professional judgment and
improve their practice throughout their career.
It communicates to families, colleagues, and the public that RECEs are members of a distinct profession. In this quarterly, recurring support network you will have the chance to gather with other RECEs, ask questions, share ideas, and chat about all things CPL.
Sara D'Alessandro (She/Her) is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a degree in Early Childhood Leadership and a post-graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science. She has worked in different capacities in the early years field for several years and is passionate about advocacy for the early years sector. Sara joined the Strive team a year ago as a Resource Specialist, previously working as a toddler educator in a Child Care centre. She firmly believes in the importance of being in touch with your inner child when working in the early years because, as educators, we learn alongside children. Sara thinks the ECE Professional Resource Centre is the perfect place for educators to get inspired and back in touch with their inner child with all the beautiful provocations available.
Raluca Wood (she/her) is a Registered Early Childhood Educator and Strive’s Professional Learning Lead. She is a graduate of Western University's Master of Education, class of 2020. She most recently worked as a preschool RECE in Oxford County and was previously a Strive Intern during her Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership journey. Raluca is passionate about professionalism and elevating the ECEC sector, empowering and supporting early years professionals to seek and understand their 'why'. Raluca is currently, planning, coordinating and supporting professional learning in our four regions: London, Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford County. Fun fact: Raluca is the only Strive Team member that has lived and worked in all four of the regions.
