All communication with children, with families, and with each other should be navigated through a courageous conversation compass that emphasizes a process of believing, feeling, thinking, planning, and acting.
In this virtual session, participants explored the nature of engaging in courageous conversations with families. We considered a model for communication with families that builds social and communication capital and discover how building that capital through ongoing communication bolsters our ability to have the more difficult and challenging conversations when they arise. We positioned communication as a three-way interaction between child, family, and Educator, emphasizing relationships as a foundation of effective communication.
