Facilitated by: Frances Cutt, Literacy Facilitator, and Linda Ludke, Collections Management Librarian, Child and Youth Focused
Learn how to select age-appropriate, diverse, engaging titles for children 0-6 years old. We will share our favourite new titles and tips on how to spread the joy of books. Reading to children provides many learning opportunities. We will discuss how to connect extension activities to support literacy and play-based learning. We will also highlight London Public Library's Let's Talk About Race kits that can be borrowed by professionals and used within their programming.
Frances Cutt is a Literacy Facilitator at the London Public Library. In her 35 years at LPL, she has worked at several Library branch locations and the past 17 years in her current role. She provides training for volunteers, parents and staff on how children learn to read and has also worked with partners to create the Let’s Start Talking Conversation Cards.
