BUILDING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH MENTORSHIP

Facilitated by: Mary Mitches R.ECE., MPed and Michele Andersen R.ECE, HBA

Join facilitators Mary Mitches (Fanshawe College ECL Field Coordinator) and Michele Andersen (Fanshawe College Faculty Advisor) as we discuss mentorship. How to develop a positive mentoring relationship and the dispositions of mentors and mentees. Participants will have an opportunity to share their experiences and discuss what "good mentorship" looks like.

My name is Mary Mitches and I have been a registered Early Childhood Educator for over 25 years where I have mentored ECE students, new ECEs and co-created a mentoring program for our local school board . I have been teaching at Fanshawe for 7 years, first in the ECE diploma program and then moving to the Early Childhood Leadership degree as faculty and field coordinator. Research Interests: I am passionate about children as active agents, working collaboratively with educators, families, and each other to be empowered and engaged learners. Relationships Matter!

Hi, my name is Michele Andersen and I have been in the field of ECE for over 30 years. In my career, I have been a student, mentor and faculty advisor. Hence, I am excited to share my passion and knowledge with each of you. I am passionate about developing and acknowledging the leader in each person and to affirm their own abilities in the process. I look forward to meeting you and having engaged discussions in our session.
