Facilitated by: Jade Rogers, Registered Occupational Therapist, Msc. (OT), OT Reg. (Ont.). Owner of Outdoor Occupational Therapy Elgin and TimberNook Elgin
Jade will be hosting a colour walk around her "back 40" and a campfire chat to explore outdoor play in all weather, challenging the red tape, inspiring play setups and how we can enjoy outside time too! Dress for the weather, bring a camp chair and enjoy a s'more cooked with your own whittled stick as we learn, chat and reflect together OUTDOORS! Please come ready to engage in conversations around pedagogy of outdoor play, rethinking the colder weather and how adults influence children’s love of the outdoors.
Please bring a lawn chair.
Jade Rogers is a registered Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. She has been working as an OT for thirteen years and has always had a passion for working with children. Upon graduation, Jade worked as an OT in schools and has had a vision of change ever since; having her own children re-ignited a spark to get children playing outside and learning outside the walls of a classroom. When Jade found TimberNook she realized she shared this vision with an army of other outdoor play advocates and her career path was solidified. TimberNook evolved into her own private paediatric OT business called Outdoor Occupational Therapy Elgin which uses a nature based play modality to support growth, development and function. Personally, Jade enjoys reading, sports and outdoor adventures with her husband and three sons.
