MEET JESSE, STRIVE MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST!
The Strive Team is overjoyed to introduce you to Jesse Walker (he/him), Strive Marketing & Communications Specialist! This is a brand new position at Strive and we are so looking forward to working with Jesse and seeing where this new role takes us!
We asked Jesse some questions to get to know him a little better. Keep reading to see what he said!
Tell us a bit about yourself…
Hey! My name is Jesse Walker and I've been working as a marketing manager and marketing specialist across multiple sectors for roughly 8 years. When I'm not helping to grow brands, I'm either trying a new restaurant or finding a new corner of the world to explore. From owning an award-winning burger joint to excelling during my time as a musician and working with artists like Shawn Mendes and Demi Lovato, I have a storied past and believe that life is just about creating experiences and memories with great people.
Tell us about your role… What are you looking forward to in this role?
Within my role as marketing specialist at Strive, I'll be using my digital marketing and event management skill sets to propel the brand to new heights and create new growth opportunities both digitally and in person. While the role is still being defined internally, I'll have my hand in web-based content, brand strategy, paid ad optimization, event management, the Strive podcast, and many other elements of the organization. I am passionate about the work that we do and look forward to growing along with Strive.
Tell us something you enjoy doing in your spare time.
I love to travel. I’ve been to every province and every territory except for PEI, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia. I’ve kayaked with humpback whales in Greenland and watched wild elephants trek through the tea fields in Munnar, India. I’m also a huge foodie and run a platform called @dinein519 that supports restaurants across Southwestern Ontario.
What is something you’re unlearning…
I no longer hold grudges. If something or someone isn’t for me, I’ve learned to simply move on because there’s no shortage of great things in this world.
What inspires you…
Being creative is a big driving force in my life. I love watching something I've worked on grow from the ground up and seeing a project come together as a finished product. I want to create a lasting impact in all that i do and that’s something that has always kept me moving forward.

“To write about life, first you must live it.” - Ernest Hemingway. This is a philosophy that really resonates with me and one that I try to live by.
