Resource Consultants provide modelling support and coaching to child care professionals to increase their ability to understand and implement the suggestions provided by multi-disciplinary team members, and to integrate these strategies into classroom routines. Simply Kids childcare is looking to add some new RECE’s to our team starting this summer.  We are located in Strathroy and offer programs from infant to school age. Successful candidates must have the following:

  • Valid CPR-C and first aid
  • Current VSC
  • In good standing with the college of ECE

We are currently looking for an Educator for our kindergarten program to start ASAP. This person will be in charge of running our summer program as well as continuing on in our before and after program starting in September when the children return to school. Responsibilities include creating a safe and fun learning environment for the children in your care, daily attendance, health and illness tracking, documentation of children’s development, as well self-help and skill development.

After 3 months we offer benefits for those working 35+ hours per week. Staff will also receive the $2.00 wage enhancement grant from the government (This is not included in the hourly rate).

 Qualifications:

· College diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent

· Current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators

Job Requirements:

· Must have current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificate

· Must have current clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Screening

· Experience working with children ages 18 months to 4 years

· Knowledge of ‘How Does Learning Happen’ pedagogy

· Knowledge and understanding of the CCEYA

· Willingness to participate in professional development

Responsibilities:

· Plan and implement children’s developmentally appropriate programming with knowledge of ‘How Does Learning Happen?’ pedagogy.

· Plan and implement programming that supports and promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in a child-directed / adult-supported environment.

· Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children.

· Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers, parents & families, and other professionals and community service providers involved with the children.

· Ensure follow through with policies and procedures, including Covid-19 protocols in line with Ministry of Education and MLHU standards.

Skills:

· Excellent organizational & time management skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).

·  Reliable and flexible in adapting to changes in the program.

·  Ability to work as an effective team member to foster a child-focused environment.

·  Experience in observation and documentation skills.
