In the documentary, Louise remarks that during election time politicians come into the community and promise things, and people trust it. Michelle describes decades of ongoing discussions between her First Nation’s leadership & the government & the pulp mill. She says, “Rule #1: you don’t trust. The trust has been broken…”
Question: In our classrooms, it’s important that we build trust with children and families. In your experience, how do we do that? How do we repair trust once it’s been broken?
